When the problem is in the electronics

Sometimes the problem is in the electronics. We look at it. If the board can be repaired, we repair it. If it can't, we order the part from the maker.

What this means

Modern welders run on circuit boards. Often one small part on one board fails, not the whole machine. We test the board and look for that part. We can't promise every board can be repaired.

How it goes

  1. We find out what's wrong with the machine.
  2. We tell you your options: repair the board, or order the part from the maker.
  3. Nothing starts until you approve.
  4. After the repair we test the machine before it goes back to you.

When we order from the manufacturer

Some boards have a chip that only the factory can program. In that case we order the board or part from the maker and fix your machine with it. The 6-month warranty still applies to parts and labor.

Brands we repair

Miller, Lincoln Electric, ESAB and Hobart. We are an independent shop, not an authorized dealer for any brand. We don't repair no-name import machines, because parts and firmware aren't available for them.

What it costs

Finding out what's wrong costs $250, and it goes toward your repair. We quote the repair after that. See pricing and warranty.
